About SICHERHEIT
SICHERHEIT is the biannual congress on safety and security of the
German Informatics Society (Gesellschaft für Informatik, GI). It
covers the whole range of topics from this area, for example secure
software development, biometrics, e-commerce, reliability and safety,
certification, fault-tolerance, formal methods, critical
infrastructure protection, cryptography, network security, privacy
enhancing techniques, intrusion detection and prevention, and
steganography.
SICHERHEIT usually has an attendance of around 100 participants,
mainly from Universities and research laboratories in Germany. It is
organised by the special interest group "Sicherheit" (meaning the
combination of safety and security) within GI.
SICHERHEIT has been held in Frankfurt (2003), Regensburg (2005),
Magdeburg (2006) and Saarbrucken (2008). Berlin marks the fifth issue
of SICHERHEIT.

About Gesellschaft für Informatik
Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI) is a non-profit organization of
computing professionals with around 25.000 members. Most of them
develop the discipline of informatics by teaching, researching or
working in the field of informatics, while others are involved in
related business and political areas. The main purposes of this
network of professionals are to motivate for informatics, develop the
scientific discipline and promote the impact informatics has on
economy, business and society.
